C系列、N系列机都装有水滤器。水滤器滤芯装在壳体内，需定期更换。水滤器中装有由多种化学元素组成的DCA滤芯，这种滤芯可与清水或永久性防冻剂(防漏防冻剂除外)配合使用。冷却系统中一小部分冷却液流经DCA水滤器，对冷却液进行滤清并释放DCA成分，以保证冷却液中必要的DCA浓度。其作用是调节冷却液酸碱度；抑制和防止水垢及沉淀物的堆积；防止气缸套被穴蚀和腐蚀；消除和防止冷却系统产生气泡。DCA在冷却液中的浓度随机工作运行时间的延长不断地被稀释，因此应定期更换滤芯(每250h或6个月进行B级保养时更换)。若使用中需要增加冷却液，则必须按照维修规程，对冷却液中的DCA含量用随机所带的“冷却液检查包”中的药品进行检查，以确定所应添加的DCA数量，DCA的含量应维持在0.32～0.79单位/L之间。需要说明的是，检测的整个过程需在75s内全部完成。此外，还应注意的是：1)B级保养时所更换的DCA滤芯与新机上所装的预装滤芯不同。因为B级保养时冷却液已有DCA含量，而新机中是清水，两者的DCA含量不同。2)在冬季，******在冷却液中加用防冻液，以免冷却液冻结，而不需要采取每天放掉冷却液的办法，因为这样会浪费DCA。如光用清水则会使气缸套严重穴蚀。3)在装有DCA水滤器的机上不能使用防漏剂，因防漏剂会堵塞DCA水滤器，所以“防漏防冻液”不可用在机上。4)如果需补充加入冷却水，则应使用预先经处理的冷却水。5)每次放空冷却系统中冷却水后，应装入预装滤芯。6)为确保有效的防护作用，每换三次滤芯或间隔更短的时间内就应检查一次冷却液。水滤器座可装到节温器壳上或远距离安装在水滤器歧管上。水滤器座有两种形式阀门，即阀式水滤器座柱塞式水滤器座。它们的作用都是在更换水滤芯时关闭机的水路，这样在更换水滤芯时就不必放尽冷却液。
