1）将中冷器体放到工作运行台上，安放位置应与在机（陆用山西干式变压器组驱动型）上的安装位置相同。2）将垫片放到中冷器体上，将新的O型圈涂清洁机油后装到中冷器芯的进水和出水接头上，将中冷器芯装入体中。3）将进水接头和新垫片装到中冷器芯的进水口，不可以损坏O形圈。用拧紧螺钉将接头固到体上。4）将垫片装入中冷器芯的安装法兰上，务必将垫片、中冷器和体上的螺钉孔对准，装上盖，但此时不要将来的拧紧到规定力矩。5）将出水接头和新垫片装到盖上，装上螺钉和铜垫片，用手拧紧螺钉。注意：务必将O形圈装到准确位置并且完好无损。6）拧上中冷器盖、中冷器芯和中冷器体的连接螺钉，此时不要拧紧至规定力矩。7）拧上进水接头与中冷器体的连接螺钉，拧紧到37～43N·m。8）拧紧中冷器盖与中冷器体的连接螺钉到34N·m，先拧紧中间的螺钉，然后从中间到两端每边拧1个，依次交替进行。9）拧紧出水接头的螺钉到21～27N·m。具有横向螺钉的中冷器的装配方法如下：1）将中冷器体放置再工作运行台上，安放的位置应与在机（陆用山西干式变压器组驱动型）上的安装位置相同。2）将新的O形圈涂上清洁机油后装入中冷器芯的进、出水接头上，再将中冷器芯装入体内。此时务必保证O形圈装到准确位置上并且完好无损。注：中冷器芯与体配合精密，装入体内的过程中应小心移动。检查两者的间隙时应将芯紧靠体的一侧，检查另一侧。间隙不得小于0.07mm，不得大于0.33mm。3）将中冷器体和芯上的横向螺钉孔对准，装入横向螺钉和淬硬垫圈，先拧紧体中间的，后拧紧两端的。先初步拧紧到21N·m，再顺序拧紧到35N·m。4）将进水接头和新的垫片装到中冷器芯的进水口，不可损坏O形圈，用手拧紧螺钉。5）将新的垫片和中冷器盖装到体上，务必将垫片的孔与盖和孔对准。用手拧紧螺钉。6）装上出水皆有和芯垫片，装上铜垫圈和螺钉，用手拧紧螺钉。7）拧紧进水接头的连接螺钉到37～43N·m。8）拧紧中冷器盖与体的连接螺钉到34N·m，拧紧顺序是先中间后两端，每边各拧1个，依次交替进行。9）拧紧出水接头的连接螺钉到21～27N·m。KTTA型机的侧置式中冷器的修理要点如下：KTTA型机中冷器的拆装、清洗及主要事项可参照6BT型机中冷器。这里仅说明侧置式中冷器--冷却液侧的压力试验。试验时，取一段软管，其一端用管塞堵住，将下边那只水接头堵住。在另一边（上边那只）水接头上接头空气管和压力表，对中冷器芯加压检查其渗漏情况，空气或水的压力为448kPa。如有渗漏则中冷器必须更换。
